NPR had a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2014\/04\/08\/300477910\/the-last-word-in-business\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">radio segment<\/a>, and PC world featured a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcworld.com\/article\/2140802\/the-story-behind-the-windows-xp-bliss-photo-and-what-it-looks-like-today.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">story<\/a>. The photographer took the photo from Highway 12 in Sonoma County back in 1998, and says despite the vivid colors it was not retouched. I&#8217;d always imagined it was somewhere in the East Bay, with Mount Diablo in the background, so not too far off.
